President Jimmy Carter exemplified the character of a president, statesman and public servant. President Carter served as President of the United States, Governor and State Senator for Georgia, awardee of the Nobel Peace Prize, and humanitarian. However, his greatest roles were husband, father, son and friend.
Jimmy Carter’s Christian belief, faith, and commitment to justice, peace and equality lead to his life of service. He was a man for the people who served the nation, and the world guided by his strong principles, high integrity, and dedication. President Carter broke barriers, mend borders, set standards for civil and social justice, peace, healed and housed people through his selfless humanitarianism. President Carter and his wife Rosalynn were champions for the senior population and through the Carter Center established programs that enhanced the health and well-being of seniors, for this we applaud the Carter family.
We the people of Georgia, the United States of America and the world thank and salute you for your love, dedication, commitment, and service. We send our love, prayers, and well wishes to the Carter family.
“Within our free society each of us has an opportunity to develop a wide range of abilities, characteristics, responsibilities, and interests. I am a Southerner and an American. I am a farmer, an engineer, a father and husband, a Christian, a politician and former governor, a planner, a businessman, a nuclear physicist, a naval officer, a canoeist, and, among other things, a lover of Bob Dylan’s songs and Dylan Thomas’s poetry.”
President Jimmy Carter
