About GCOA Council Meetings

The Georgia Council on Aging (GCOA) meets quarterly to discuss key issues affecting older adults, caregivers, and aging service providers across the state. Most of GCOA’s work is done as a “committee of the whole,” meaning decisions are made collaboratively by the full Council after thoughtful research and discussion.

GCOA’s Executive Committee supports this process by providing organizational oversight, developing governance policies, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. It also helps guide member engagement and fiscal responsibility.

As needed, GCOA may establish short-term committees to explore emerging issues, evaluate initiatives, or provide recommendations on funding decisions. These committees ensure the Council stays responsive, informed, and effective in its advocacy for Georgia’s aging population.
