To Engage, Inspire and Educate Gerontology Students
Our first annual Gerontology Student Workforce Day at the Capitol was a success! Those who participated learned a lot about the legislative process and were inspired to become advocates! They proudly went to the Capitol and met their legislators. Senator Unterman came over in the morning and spoke to them about her efforts over many years as an elected official to advocate for older adults. She also mentioned how proud she was of these students to be serving in such a needed profession. We hope that the students who participated this year will encourage their schools to participate for years to come! You all are our future advocates!
Enjoy the photo gallery below! A special thanks to the committee that pulled this event together and to Denise Jew, recent graduate of Brenau University's Gerontology program for leading the effort. Also, we want to thank the Georgia Gerontology Society (GGS) for sponsoring our lunch today and providing our participants a delicious Italian lunch.
