Elder caregivers arrested for stealing clients' jewelry

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -- Two caregivers have been arrested after allegedly stealing thousands of dollars in jewelry from an elderly couple they were supposed to be helping.

Gwinnett County police said the investigation began on Oct. 16 when they were notified of $6,000 worth of jewelry stolen from the victims' Lawrenceville residence. 

The 74-year-old woman who reported the theft to police, talked to 11 Alive News but only wanted us to use her first name Mary. Mary said the two women cared for her 93-year-old husband, a World War II veteran who has Alzheimers. Mary said the incident has changed her life.
