The Georgia Council on Aging will celebrate Senior Week at the Georgia State Capitol February 23, February 24 and February 25 2010, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day at the south end of the Rotunda. The theme for this year is “Be There 4 Seniors.”

Seniors from all over Georgia will meet with their legislators and advocate for the 2010 Coalition of Advocates for Georgia’s Elderly (CO-AGE) priorities. They will also have the opportunity to visit with the Georgia Council on Aging
and meet with various exhibitors.

Legislative updates will be given all three days. Rev. Warren L. Jones, an active member of the National Silver Haired Congress currently appointed by Congressman Phil Gingrey, will be honored as the Distinguished Older Georgian 2010 in the House of Representatives chamber for his exemplary advocacy. The date of the honoring is to be determined.
